  • As demonstrated in the above list, symptoms of stress can show up in a mind bogglingly wide range, and have huge impact and effects on our sense of self, our emotions, moods and behaviors.
    HOW STRESSED AM I?
    You may see a number of symptoms that describe you, and yet have trouble grasping that stress is their cause. It may be hard to think of stress as their direct cause, when often the symptom is in itself a cause of stress, and perpetually locked into a vicious cause-effect cycle.
    Another reason it is hard to tell if you are "really that stressed", is because mental disorders, even full blown mental, mood and emotional dysfunctions, that were rare have now become the norm and worrisomely we have come to accept them as normal.
    How would we know what freedom from stress is like it we have never experienced any other kind of existence?
    We may also have trouble grasping the seriousness of stress because, well, stress is a brain killer. It impairs our judgement, memory, and much more. Neuroscientists are warning us about disregarding the fragility of our brains with regard to stress.
    And our brain is only one of the systems that we can be unaware of, or worse oblivious to, being heavily affected by stress overload.
    STRESS EFFECTS ON BODILY SYSTEMS
    Equally important but often less appreciated are the physical effects of stress on various body systems, organs and tissues all over the body.
    But we do not stay unaware for long. Sooner, rather than later, we have a serious physical, mental or emotional breakdown.

    Kikosi cha stars mazoezini juzi

    KOCHA Taifa Stars, Jan Poulsen na kiungo Nizar Khalfan wamewataka Watanzania kuondoa wasiwasi kwa kuahidi kufanya vizuri kwenye mchezo wa leo dhidi ya Msumbiji.
    Kauli hizo za Poulsen na Khalfan zinatokana na baadhi ya mashabiki wa Stars kukata tamaa na timu hiyo kwa kutokuwa na matokeo mazuri kwenye michezo yake ya kimataifa hivi karibuni pamoja na kutofurahishwa na uteuzi wa wachezaji wa kikosi hicho.
    Wakizungumza na Mwananchi jana mara baada ya mazoezi ya timu hiyo, Poulsen alisema ana imani wachezaji wake watapata matokeo mazuri kesho kama wataungwa mkono na mashabiki wote.
    "Watanzania wote kwa sasa wanapaswa kuwa kitu kimoja na kuendelea kutuunga mkono ili kuhakikisha tunaibuka na ushindi katika mchezo huo muhimu.
    "Siwezi kuwalazimisha kuondoa hofu, lakini ningependa kuwaambia kuwa nina matuini makubwa vijana wangu kufanya vizuri kwenye mechi hiyo. Wachezaji wameonyesha uchungu na timu ya taifa," alisema Poulsen.
    Alisema maneno mengi yanayosemwa na baadhi ya mashabiki kutokana na kutomwita Mbwana Samataa katika kikosi cha Stars, hayajengi isipokuwa jambo la msingi ni kuijitokeza kwa wingi na kuishangilia timu kesho kwenye Uwanja wa Taifa jijini Dar es Salaam.
    Akiunga mkono kauli za kocha wake kiungo Khalfan alisisitiza kuwa Taifa Stars ina nafasi kubwa ya kuifunga Msumbuji.
    Nizar aliyetemwa dakika za mwisho na klabu yake ya Philadephia Union ya Marekani alisema: "Nafikiri tuna kila sababu ya kushinda mchezo wa kesho, kila atakayepata nafasi yakucheza ajitume na kujitoa kwa ajili ya Taifa lake."
    Alisema timu ya Zambia haikuwa na wachezaji wakutisha sana kwenye fainali ya Kombe la Mataifa Afrika zilizomalizika Gabon na Equatorial Guinea isipokuwa nyota wake walikuwa na moyo wakujitoa na kujituma zaidi.
    "Naamini tukiweza kufuata hayo kutoka kwa ndugu zetu Zambia tutashinda mchezo huo tena kwa kishindo," alisisitiza.

    Alisema tangu alipotua nchini Jumapili jioni amefurahishwa na morali aliyowakuta na wachezaji wa kikosi hicho na kusema ni dalili nzuri ya ushindi kwa Stars.
    "Ni dalili nzuri kwetu kumwona kila mmoja wetu morali yake ikiwa juu, tunaomba mashabiki watupe sapoti ya kutosha ili tuweze kufanya yale ambayo yamekusudiwa na wengi," aliongeza.
    Alisema anaamini kama watashinda mechi hiyo ya kwanza ya kufuzu kwa Kombe la Mataifa Afrika 2013 watajiweka katika mazingira mazuri yakusonga mbele.
    Katika hatua nyingine, alisema hafahamu sababu za Poulsen kumwacha Samatta.
    "Sababu atakuwa nazo mwenyewe, siwezi kuingilia maamuzi yake, naamini Samata bado ana nafasi kubwa kwenye timu ya taifa," alisema Nizar.

    Hii ni mara ya tano kwa Tanzania na Msumbiji kucheza kati ya hizo Mambaz imeshinda mechi mbili na kutoka sare mbili.
    Watanzania wengi wanakumbukumbu ya bao la Tiko Tiko lililowanyima kufuzu kwa fainali za Mataifa ya Afrika mwaka 2008 nchini Ghana.
